Ministry

You were shaped for serving God

The purpose of our Ministry Team is to guide members into fulfilling their unique call to ministry. The goal of this team is to help Christ-followers discover where they can best use their gifts and talents to serve in God’s kingdom. At St. Paul’s, we believe every member of our fellowship should be in ministry and that every ministry should be joyful and God-glorifying. The symbol for this team is the Christ-centered hands reaching out to the world at large. Those called to this team have a heart for the lost souls in the world around us and for helping each member discover his or her niche in God’s church. At St. Paul’s, the Ministry Team serves as the birthing center for all new ministries to which we, as the Body of Christ, are called.

Ministry Team programs include evangelism, Walk to Emmaus, and spiritual gift inventories (SET).

Ministry Team

The primary function of the Ministry Purpose Area is to help people discover their spiritual gifts, and then guide them to opportunities where they can use their gifts to serve here at St. Paul’s. God gives each of us spiritual gifts so that we can be used to glorify Him within the Body of Christ. The secondary function is to incubate new evolving ministries until they become vibrant, at which time they are placed in the appropriate purpose area where they mature into the ministry at St. Paul’s that God intends.

S.E.T. for Ministry (Class 301)

The goal of this class is to help believers to be fruitful and fulfilled in meaningful service to God within His church. This is done by first helping folks discover the spiritual gifts God has graced them with when they began their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each participant will have the opportunity to learn about the spiritual gifts, why they are needed, and how to use them. God also blesses each of us with experiences and talents, and the class explores how to wrap these three together to find each person’s unique gift mix. The next step is determining how and where to serve, and part of the seminar is providing counselors to aid in this process. Through this class each one will become SET (Spiritual Gifts, Experiences, Talents and abilities) for God’s service. This course is offered quarterly.

The walk to Emmaus is an international spiritual renewal program sponsored by the Upper Room, intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program’s approach seriously considers the model of Christ’s servanthood and encourages Christ’s disciples to act in ways appropriate to being “a servant to all.”

In the conference room across from the staff office is a small but growing church library. Every genre of Christian writing can be found within the shelves. The books have been cataloged using the Dewey Decimal system, and all are welcome to donate and/or borrow materials. Find a book or video you’re interested in and just look for the short information poster about how to check it out. There is also a box for donations and returns.
